Account, session, and client data is stored in a SQLite database on the server. Anonymous trial sessions are tracked server-side and associated with a browser cookie (mt_device; HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict). Your browser's localStorage is used for convenience features only (preferences, draft data). We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data. You are responsible for securing access to the platform (server credentials, network security).
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, or as required by South African law (typically 5 years for financial records under the Tax Administration Act). You may request deletion of client records at any time.

By accessing or using MultiTool ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users including individuals and corporate clients.
MultiTool provides business management tools including financial calculators, client management, appointment booking, invoice generation, and related utilities. The Platform is provided on an "as is" basis.
New visitors to the Platform receive a 60-day free trial with full access to all features. No account or payment is required to start a trial. The trial period begins on your first visit and is tracked server-side via a secure anonymous session cookie (mt_device). This cookie contains only an opaque random token and cannot be used to identify you personally.
The trial period is non-transferable and applies once per device. After the trial expires you may create an account to continue using the Platform. We reserve the right to modify trial terms at any time with reasonable notice.
You agree to use the Platform only for lawful business purposes. You must not:

Invoices generated by the Platform are based on data you provide. You are solely responsible for ensuring invoices comply with SARS requirements, VAT regulations, and applicable tax law. We do not warrant that generated invoices meet all legal requirements for your specific circumstances.
Live commodity prices, currency rates, and market data are sourced from third-party public APIs and may be delayed or inaccurate. Do not use this data for trading or investment decisions.
All content, design, and code within the Platform are the intellectual property of Kaizen Edge (Pty) Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to data loss, financial loss, or loss of business opportunity. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim (or R500 if no fees were paid).
If you are a consumer as defined under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008, you retain all rights afforded to you under that Act. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under the CPA that cannot be lawfully excluded.
You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of data you enter into the Platform, including client personal information. By entering third-party personal information, you warrant that you have the necessary consent or lawful basis to do so under POPIA.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Platform at any time if these terms are violated. You may stop using the Platform at any time.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts. We encourage resolution of disputes by direct negotiation before formal proceedings.
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically.
